WHAT WE BELIEVE...
At TownWest we believe that the Bible is God’s inspired Word. What we mean by that is that though human men actually wrote and spoke the words recorded in the Bible over a period of several thousands of years, it was God who inspired these men to write and speak. We believe that the words, the message, and the idea all originated with God. Because of this belief we expect the Bible to be consistent (to agree with itself) and inerrant (without error) in its original form.
We believe that the Spirit of God is capable of moving and working in many ways in life but one of the ways He initially, continually, and predictably works is through God’s Word. God’s Word offers authoritative and practical direction for every area of life; from marriage and family, to matters concerning civil and occupational relevance. But the Bible primarily is God’s introduction and explanation of himself to mankind – it is God’s story, and the story of how he redeems mankind.
Because of the nature of the information we find in the Bible, and the means by which it was offered to mankind we treat the Bible not as a piece of literature but as the very words of God – Sacred, and honorable.
Our goal at TownWest is to teach and preach God’s Word in such a way as to draw all people closer to our Lord, give Him glory, and proclaim the Excellencies of our God.
